Diamond Audio debuted an extra large late model Harley speaker/cut in kit offering the largest format speaker available for the newer Harley saddlebags, said the company.

The 8 x 12-inch Cut-In Lid Kit for 2024+ touring Harley-Davidson motorcycles increases the cone area of the speaker by more than an estimated 170 percent due to the “V” shape of the cone.

“This simply means, you have the rough cone area of 2×10 inch subwoofers without giving up any additional saddle bag space. Traditionally this means, more cone area equals more output,” said Director of Product Development John Catalano.

“With the 2024+ Harley platform, we didn’t just want to make another speaker kit; we wanted to dominate the space,” said Catalano. “By utilizing the 8″x12″ format and our patent-pending housing, we are giving riders more air movement and more volume than anything else on the market, all while keeping their bags functional.”

Patent-Pending Design

The kit’s design (US Provisional Patent Application No. 63/951,910) uses an oval 8″ x12″ speaker format. According to Diamond Audio, the oval design maximizes cone area for increased sound pressure levels while maintaining saddlebag storage capacity.

HMXFB Series Specifications

The system incorporates Diamond Audio’s HMXFB 2-way speakers with the following components:

  • Carbon fiber cone construction
  • 1.5″ compression-loaded titanium tweeter
  • Neodymium motor structure
  • Fiber-reinforced basket

The tweeter is designed to provide high-frequency output capable of overcoming wind and exhaust noise during riding.

Construction Details

The lid kit uses brass inserts to secure the gasket seal between inner and outer housing components, engineered for water resistance. Diamond Audio is offering an optional tunable port kit as an add-on for increased bass output.

The product targets the 2024-and-newer Harley-Davidson touring platform, which features redesigned saddlebag geometry compared to previous model years.
